Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 90
Notes of peonies, rose petals, raspberries, loamy soil and orange rind introduce the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, a medium to full-bodied, open and charming wine with melting tannins, lively acids and a saline finish. [William Kelley, 10/01/2022]
Vinous 90
The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes offers a mixture of red and black fruit laced with blood orange and quince, nicely focused with a sense of energy developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit. Fine acidity, just slightly confit-like towards the finish that erodes a little of the precision compared to other cuvees, though there is satisfying length. [Neal Martin, 16/12/2021]
