Tasting Notes
Vinous 90
The NV (2018) Extra Brut Grand Cru is every bit as delicious as it was when I tasted it a few months back. In this release, the Extra Brut Grand Cru is on the lighter side, likely a reflection of a shift in the house style toward wines of greater focus and the natural restraint of the year. Dried orchard fruit, herbs, plum and crushed flowers all build nicely in the glass, leading to a finish defined by precision and nuance. Dosage is 1 gram per liter. Disgorged: November 2023. 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.Based on 2016. The wine is fermented using natural yeast and aged on the lees for a year. Bottled without fining or filtering. Not an amazing perfume but lots of broad Pinot fruit on the palate. Some sour note on the end. Not as much fun at the moment as the Premices. (JR) [30/03/2022]

The NV Brut Tradition Grand Cru is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from Ambonnay that is disgorged after four years on the lees. The recent release is based on the 2010 vintage and was disgorged in 2015 with three or four grams of dosage. It is a very clear and finesse-full, but also complex and firmly structured cuvee with grip, tension and a long finish. [Stephan Reinhardt, 28/09/2017]
