Description
1er Cru Burgundy | 100% Pinot Noir
If Gevrey-Chambertin is typically known as the “King” of Burgundy for its power, Les Goulots is its most athletic and refined expression. Sourced from a tiny 1er Cru plot sitting at nearly 340 meters elevation, this wine is defined by its “limestone tension.” In a warm year like 2022, the altitude of Les Goulots acted as a natural air conditioner, preserving a vibrant acidity and a floral perfume that is rare for such a structured appellation.
The Look: A bright, translucent ruby with violet glints.
The Nose: High-toned and incredibly floral. Recent reviews (early 2026) describe an explosion of red cherries, wild strawberries, and rose petals, underpinned by crushed stones, white pepper, and a hint of fresh mint.
The Palate: Precise and energetic. It lead with “crunchy” red fruit, followed by a mid-palate of pomegranate and spice. The tannins are firm but “chalky” and fine-grained, characteristic of the high-slope limestone soils.
The Finish: Exceptional clarity. It concludes with a long, saline and flinty minerality that leaves the palate feeling refreshed.
