Description
RICH & OPULENT
ALREADY A STEP INTO THE ROAD OF GRANDS CRUS!
Les Corbeaux has a similar soil makeup to Mazis-Chambertin, with a
high proportion of limestone and clay. This has proved very useful
viticulturally, as it stores water as well as draining excess, forcing vines to work hard for hydration. Vigor and yield is reduced as a
result, leading to the production of high-quality berries, and powerful concentrated wines.
ANNUAL PRODUCTION: 700 – 1 100
bottles
AVERAGE VINE AGE: 60 years
SITUATION: Vines are located just next to
the Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin and face
directly East. Les Corbeaux is the Northen
gateway to the nine Grands Crus of
Gevrey-Chambertin. “Corbeaux” means
crow in French but the name of this climat
(terroir) actually comes from the ancient
Latin word “curvus”, meaning a curve,
describing the shape of the vineyard.
