Metras’s 2019 Fleurie is showing beautifully, unwinding in the glass with scents of raspberries, wild berries, bergamot, rose petals and spices. It is medium to full-bodied, bright and vibrant, with refined tannins, succulent acids and a long, precise finish. Delicately charged with residual carbon dioxide, to my palate, it’s among the purest and most defined vintages Metras has produced in recent years.
