Tasting Notes

Vinous 91-94

Bright red with ruby tones. More inky and slightly higher-toned than the Beaumont, offering very dark, nuanced aromas and flavors of black cherry, dark raspberry, violet, cocoa powder and crushed rock. Rich, ripe, broad and sedate in the mouth, but with excellent energy and lift. Finishes saline, tactile and very long, with a somewhat more tannic impression than the Beaumonts; I suspect this wine will be slower to evolve. [Stephen Tanzer, 01/01/2018]

Robert Parker 93-95

"The 2016 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Suchots has a very pure bouquet, a similar fruit profile to the Beaumonts but with more ripeness, a little more vivacious and charming in keeping with the Suchots style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, more sensual and denser than the Beaumonts, with a corpulent finish perhaps more common in 2015. This is an outstanding Les Suchots." [Neal Martin, 29/12/2017]

Anticipated maturity: 2021-2045
