Tasting Notes

Robert Parker 92-94

The 2014 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru les Suchots has a similar nose to the Les Beaux Monts at the moment, perhaps a little conservative and needing to find its voice. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, supple and pure with sorbet-like freshness careening over the tensile finish. This is one of those wines that the longer you remain in its presence, the more you fall for its charms. It should be a little stunner once in bottle. [Neal Martin, 28/09/2017]

Anticipated maturity: 2017-2035

Vinous 92+

Bright medium red. Sexy, inviting aromas of sweet raspberry, cocoa powder and soil. Plush, broad and seamless but with good medicinal reserve to its dark fruit, licorice, spice and earth flavors. Most impressive today on the very long, spicy, rising finish, where the ripe tannins saturate the entire mouth. Conveys an impression of density without weight, like the better examples of the vintage. [Stephen Tanzer, 03/01/2017]

Anticipated maturity: 2022-2031
