Tasting Notes
Vinous 90/100
The 2013 L’Eglise-Clinet has a clean and precise bouquet with black fruit, sous-bois, shavings of black truffle and hints of morels. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins on the entry, red fruit laced with mocha and delicate acidity with a harmonious, if simplistic (for this estate) finish. Fine. [Neal Martin, 08/08/2023]

Tasted blind. Deeply coloured. Fruit to the fore. Firm and chewy but with fruit in the middle. Just slightly tough on the finish but should come round. (JH) [27/01/2017]

Robert Parker 94
The 2013 L’Eglise Clinet has a very precise, tightly wound bouquet with limestone-tinged, brambly red berry fruit, the Merlot still very expressive and imparting comely floral scents. There is something almost Burgundy-like about the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin surrounding a core of citrus-fresh, lively red fruit, silky smooth in texture, approachable in style, with an almost symmetrical finish. This was a great L’Eglise-Clinet in barrel in the context of the vintage and it remains a very persuasive wine in bottle. Bravo Denis Durantou – a winemaker that can overcome even the most deplorable of growing seasons! [Neal Martin, 30/03/2016]
