Tasting Notes
Vinous 95
The 2010 Larcis Ducasse is a wine that tasted stupendous from barrel, but I subsequently encountered two perplexing showings blind after bottling. Fortunately, this replicates that initial showing. It is beautifully defined on the nose with dark cherries, dark chocolate, raspberry and touches of vanilla. It is vigorous and seems to be opening its first few chapters. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh as a daisy, fine tannins, very cohesive with a lovely sapid finish that lingers in the mouth. Superb grip with a candied element that becomes more evident with aeration. Superb. Tasted at the Larcis Ducasse vertical in Bordeaux. [Neal Martin, 06/10/2020]

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Larcis Ducasse opens a little subdued, offering glimpses of tobacco leaf, cast-iron pan and dusty soil over a core of raisin cake and Indian spices plus a touch of figs. Full-bodied, rich and seductive, it has firm, plush tannins and bags of freshness, finishing long and spicy. [Lisa Perrotti-Brown, 18/02/2020]

Tasted blind. Among the lowest alcohol of the 20 or so St-Emilions tasted today. Deep garnet with soft rim. Very ripe, dried-fruits aroma – masses of fruit. Mature and tertiary on the palate, the tannins are starting to resolve and there s freshness but it is just a bit stewed on the finish. (JH) [12/02/2020]
