100% Grand Cru, 100% Excellence
Rooted in a single Grand Cru village. Born from 24 winegrowers who dared to dream together.
In Champagne, only 17 of 320 villages carry the coveted Grand Cru designation. Mailly Grand Cru sources every single grape from one of them — its own hillside village — making it one of the most singular expressions the region has to offer.
Founded in 1929, the cooperative was built on grit, solidarity, and a refusal to sell their finest fruit for a pittance. Nearly a century later, that spirit lives on in every bottle.
A Legacy of Defiance
In the depths of the Great Depression, 24 winegrowers refused to surrender their finest grapes to the big Champagne houses. Instead, they joined forces and spent the winter of 1931 hand-digging their own cellars 15 metres into the chalky subsoil beneath the village of Mailly.
Those original 15 metres have since grown into a kilometre-long labyrinth of chalk caves — the very same cellars where every bottle of Mailly Grand Cru ages to this day, carrying the spirit of its founders in every bubble.
Mailly's 70 hectares face all four compass points, unlocking an infinite palette of expression.
Cooler exposures deliver Mailly's signature mineral freshness — the tension and salinity that make these Champagnes so precise and long.
Warmer aspects add richness, structure, and vinous depth — the backbone that gives Mailly Grand Cru its unmistakable power and longevity.
Deep chalk beneath each plot regulates water supply through the growing season, imparting the bright acidity and stony minerality synonymous with the Grand Cru village.
