Where the soil is as white as the wine it produces.

In the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Champagne Franck Bonville stands as a beacon of Chardonnay excellence. A fourth-generation grower-producer based in the legendary Grand Cru village of Avize, the house crafts Champagnes that are as much about geological history as they are about family legacy.

Today, under Olivier Bonville and Ferdinand Ruelle-Dudel, the estate spans 15 hectares across 77 individual plots in Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger — every one of them Grand Cru. Farm-to-glass, handled by the same family for over a century.

A Legacy of Vision

A century of foresight, rooted in prehistoric chalk.

The Bonville story begins in the late 19th century, when Alfred Bonville began acquiring vineyard plots in the aftermath of the phylloxera crisis — a move many considered reckless. By the 1930s the family had established a cellar in Avize, and after World War II, Franck Bonville officially launched the house as we know it today. Over a century later, the same chalk that Alfred wagered on still defines every bottle.

Olivier Bonville is a pioneer of sustainable viticulture — HVE certified, committed to preserving older vines and abandoning chemical herbicides. His winemaking philosophy centres on aromatic maturity over sharp acidity: full malolactic fermentation in stainless steel to coax out a natural roundness and generosity that "cruises on two intertwined waves" — razor-sharp Côte des Blancs precision and a velvety, unctuous texture.

What defines Franck Bonville

Three reasons every bottle earns its place on your table.

01

100% Grand Cru sourcing

Every grape comes from the most prestigious hillsides in Champagne — 77 individual plots across Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, all Grand Cru classified.

02

Maturity over acidity

Full malolactic fermentation in stainless steel builds natural roundness and generosity — balancing the razor-sharp mineral precision of the chalk with a velvety, unctuous mid-palate.

03

Grower authenticity

A true farm-to-glass experience — same family, same chalk, over a century of practice. HVE certified and committed to sustainable viticulture that preserves the "vibration" of the terroir in every glass.
