Description
100% Grand Cru | 100% Pinot Noir
Discover the “Thoroughbred” of the Mailly estate. The Blanc de Pinot Noir NV is a masterclass in the power and precision of the Montagne de Reims. While many Pinot Noir-based Champagnes lean towards heavy, “earthy” notes, Mailly’s unique north-facing vineyards and chalky subsoils produce a Blanc de Noirs of incredible tension, grace, and crystalline purity.
Crafted from 100% Grand Cru fruit, this bottling utilizes a sophisticated solera system of reserve wines, ensuring every bottle possesses a depth and complexity usually reserved for prestige vintages.
The Experience: A bold, “vinous” Champagne that drinks with the structure of a fine white Burgundy and the elegance of world-class bubbles.
Aromas: An alluring bouquet of wild strawberries, redcurrants, and violets, underpinned by sophisticated notes of warm brioche, hazelnut, and a touch of cocoa.
Palate: Rich and voluminous. It coats the palate with a “silky” mousse, offering flavors of ripe orchard fruits and a distinct chalky saltiness that keeps the finish remarkably fresh and linear.
Producer Profile
Mailly Grand Cru: The Pinnacle of Artisanal Excellence
Founded in 1929 in the midst of the Great Depression, Champagne Mailly Grand Cru is a testament to the resilience and vision of a small group of winegrowers. While most Champagne houses source grapes from across the region, Mailly is unique: it is one of the very few estates where 100% of the wines are sourced from a single Grand Cru village.
Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims nature park, the estate consists of 70 hectares divided into 35 distinct plots. This “mosaic” of terroirs with vineyards facing all four points of the compass allows the Cellar Master to craft wines of incredible complexity, balancing the power of Pinot Noir with the elegance of Chardonnay.
