Moravian Craftsmanship
100% local ingredients. A climate unlike any other whisky region on earth.
Every Gold Cock expression begins with local two-row Moravian barley, traditionally floor-malted at the historic Bruntál malthouse to preserve its rich, bready profile. The spirit is then laid down in the aging cellars of the Wallachian hills at Vizovice, where significant seasonal temperature swings cause the casks to "breathe" — accelerating the interaction between spirit and wood, and producing a depth of character that rivals spirits many years its senior.
The choice of wood sets Gold Cock apart from almost every other single malt in the world. Rather than American white oak, the distillery favours European winter oak — often sourced from local Czech forests. These tight-grained casks impart a signature spicy complexity, firm tannins, and a structural grip that is the unmistakable hallmark of the Moravian style.
